Productivity and grain size of coffee grown in different weed management systems

چکیده
Intensive weed management is one of the most common practices in coffee cultivation areas. Consequently, some problems, such as soil degradation and selection herbicide resistant weed, have increased over time, but, if properly managed, weeds at planting inter-rows can offer benefits erosion control, nutrient recycling crop sustainability. The aim this study to evaluate effect different strategies on productivity grain size, i.e., quality. experiment installed onto a resprouting Coffea arabica L. site, four years after it was established. Treatments are implanted inter-row Urochloa ruziziensis, Pueraria phaseoloides, spontaneous vegetation maintained by mowing, herbicides, weeding. To measure dry matter accumulation, samples taken with 0.25 m2 square template plots mowing application. yield granulometry, fruits harvested, processed classified set 14 sieves (grouped flat or “moca” shapes). methods controlling weeding show significance relation production, production grains having higher market value standing out, when compared other treatments. accumulation above soil, treatments herbicides positively influenced early (2018), U. ruziziensis vegetation, late harvest (2019). tends be linked productivity, especially periods there shortage rain region under study; however, cannot stated that influence relationship (causality) has direct positive between mass future plantations.

ABSTRACT- Declining land productivity associated with decreasing soil organic carbon and nutrients is a significant issue in monoculture production. The field experiment with different rates of fertilizer systems (60 kg ha-1 N + 100 kg ha-1 P, 300 kg ha-1 Bio-organic (organic fertilizer), 3 kg ha-1 Bioumik (biofertilizer), 30 kg ha-1 N + 50 kg ha-1 P + 150 kg ha-1 Bio-organic fertilizer and 30...
متن کاملProductivity , Economics , and Fruit and Soil Quality of Weed Management Systems
11 Organic tree fruit producers often rely on tillage in the tree row to control weeds and disrupt 12 rodent pest habitat. This inexpensive practice can potentially damage the trees’ trunk and roots, 13 thereby reducing yield and fruit quality. In contrast, mulching under the trees to suppress weeds 14 often improves tree performance but at a high initial installation cost, whereas flame weedin...
